Back light

As the sun sets on Greville Street a new nightclub (still in construction mode) cranks up its white strobe lights revealing a pulsing super graphic developed to lure passers-by. The majority of the strobed light is blocked out by blackened glass panels (in the french doors that stretch the full width of the site — some 16 to 20 metres), except for fine, eerie line work scratched out of the painted glass. The image for membership based club — Valve nightclub (part of the Allegiance Group) was developed by a “Barry“ according to the minder. Barry turns out to be Fady of Playground — the design arm of the Allegiance group. This simple technique creates a very evocative image for those lucky to be on Greville Street in the late hours. The images are a fusion of technology, death, magic, sex, the not-of-this-world, innocence… letting off steam at Club Valve. The following pictures do little to capture the effect of this supergraphic and a site inspection is a must, at night of course — 177 Greville Street, Prahran (near the town hall).
