David is at the window in the studio, he calls out— Andy get the camera over here now.
And what a prize. This identity was quietly rotating away on the side of a small cement mixer.
We asked the driver, — Who did the graphic? He replied, — I don’t know, I think it was some sign writer guy.
While our studio justifies a Dutch over an American font; debates mid grey over warm mid grey; or commissions a website or research debrief; a sign writer and client like — Mentone Pre Mix, bump heads together and rattle out this design solution.
We have no idea what the graphic means and let‘s leave the dark side of our humour out of this post. All one can say is only in Australia expect — the words — Get Exposed; a wink; a smile and a less than charming bottom, can exist in a single brand identity.

I think it’s called builder’s bum, the money box, etc. And the ‘exposed’ is referring to Exposed Aggregate.
FROM THE WEBSITE
“At this time Mentone Pre Mix recognised the concept of exposed aggregate concrete was about adding a more satisfying visual dimension to a sturdy and cost effective product that is generally only produced in various shades of grey. It was therefore able to carve out its own niche in the market accordingly.”
So there you go Pip and Co. You have a lot in common with this little guy and the wonders of shades of grey…
Go with mid-warm-high-end-exposed-grey. Come on peoplethings – don’t get over exposed!
