Our sponsorship work

The studio actively contributes to community causes and cultural clients, at least 10% of our billing time, or one day every week from one designer; to organisations that can benefit and grow from effective communication design yet not in the position to pay full rates.

Andrew believes that it is a privilege to spend one’s work life doing something you love.

Helping the community is very satisfying. When I am sitting in the retirement home waiting for the next stage, I am sure I won’t be saying to myself – I wish in my work life that I did more brands, DL brochures or websites.

Since 1993 the studio donates time and energy to the development of brand and graphic communication work for organisations like Chamber Music Australia, the Melbourne Fringe Festival and Fifteen Foundation in Melbourne.

In 2007 the studio developed a graphic design studio internship programme for students of design, looking for experience in a working studio. Students work year round in the studio for a minimum of four weeks.

We also contribute to design education and students of design in a range of capacities – teaching, mentoring, project advice and content contribution. Andrew was a part-time sessional lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology from 2002 to 2005. He has also guest lectured in Melbourne, Adelaide and as far Seoul in South Korea and New York.

Since October 2005, Andrew serves on the Victorian Australian Graphic Design Association Council as treasurer. He has served with the Association in various capacities since 1996; on the NSW state council and the 2002 Victorian Awards Council with Amanda Roach. He developed the design publication – Read Me First, with fellow designer David Pidgeon. His current pet project is the Forty-eight series held in Victoria.
