What is graphic design? Our film
In 2002 Andrew Ashton asked the people of Melbourne the simple question – What is graphic design? With special appearance by Mark “Jacko” Jackson, this crude production gives and insight into the dilemma facing most graphic designers – few have an idea what graphic designers do and the role they play in modern culture.
Realised and developed by Andrew Ashton, with Dogma Productions and hosted by Andrew Pegler. You decide whether graphic design is a lot of slosh, or not.

I love this film! Although it’s somewhat depressing. Eek, we’ve got a long way to go. Bless Jacko - he’s priceless. I’m going to show this to my online design students, we just had a discussion topic on the question “What is Graphic Design?”. They’re American but I’m sure it will ring the same bells. Great job people.
